On the Internet recently unofficially appeared a new version of Messenger equipped with a new option - data saver. How does it work? When we activate this option in the settings, Messenger will not download any photos or videos until the moment when you will tap on them. In the settings you can also check how much data Messenger saved by the time when app is launched. It is important to note that „Data saver” option only works for mobile internet – if we are using Wi-Fi, this option will not work.
This is another operation of Facebook to simplify the page after the release of Facebook Lite and Messenger Lite. The official discharge date of Messenger's update is still not known.
