In connection with the attack on Ukraine, many countries decided to impose sanctions on Russia. They also concern the electronic sphere. More than once, companies completely suspend their activities in Russia, cutting themselves off from the market in that country. An example of such a company is Apple, which has decided to withdraw from the Russian market and at the moment there are no indications that Apple will return to sell its products to Russia. Moreover, the company decided to remove one of the most popular Russian applications from the App Store.

We are talking about the VKontakte application, which is a very popular social media in Russia. It is a kind of Facebook equivalent for Russians. The application will no longer be available for download, but users who have already done so will still be able to use it, although there may be problems in handling its notifications. The sanctions also covered other VK applications, which include Mail.ru, VK Music and Youla.
