Until recently, the standard in the phones was a physical fingerprint reader placed on the back of the device. From several months, a very popular solution is to place such a reader under the screen, but this wasn't possible with every type of screen used on the smartphone. From now on it will be possible with LCD displays.
One of the largest Chinese display manufacturers of displays for telephones, BOE company, boasted that employees created a fingerprint reader that works with LCD screens. Earlier this solution seemed to be difficult to develop due to the fact that LCD screens are thicker than OLED screens, but according to announcements, the company wants to start mass production of these screens by the end of this year. Ultimately, phones with this type of displays should be released on the market at the beginning of 2020.
