This year Samsung will probably not surprise us anymore with any unexpected premiere, hence our eyes are worth paying attention to the company's plans for the next calendar year. The company has already started working on units that will be key when creating new phones. Samsung is still strongly focused on the development of its own Exynos processor series, which, according to the company's bosses, will allow it to become completely independent of other companies in terms of processor creation in the future. A few hours ago, Samsung officially introduced a new processor from this cycle of units, which received name Exynos 990.
Processor was made in a 7-nanometer technological process and received an ARM Mali-G77 graphic system. As you can read on the official Samsung's website, the new unit is expected to work up to 20% faster than previous units from the same family. Exynos 990 will officially support screens with refresh rates up to 120 Hz, which may indicate that next year a Samsung phone will appear on the market with this type of display. Importantly, Exynos 990 doesn't support 5G and if Samsung wants to add 5G support for a specific phone then it will be necessary to use Exynos Modem 5123. Exynos 990 will go into mass production later this year.
