The foldable phone market is very attractive from the manufacturers' point of view, so it's no wonder that Apple is serious about entering this segment of the mobile market. Experts' reports indicate, however, that there is still a lot of time to the premiere of the foldable phone from Apple and we should not expect it on the market before 2025. Work on screens that can be used for this type of equipment, however, is still ongoing. What's more, Apple should soon start testing foldable panels designed for iPhones and iPads.
The foldable screen from Apple is distinguished by the removal of the polarizing layer. Thanks to this, Apple is able to create thinner displays, which, however, by making such a decision, will suffer in terms of visibility and maximum brightness. For this reason, the manufacturer will probably be forced to increase the overall brightness of the display, which will translate into a higher energy demand and will probably have a negative impact on the longevity of this type of screen. However, we should wait with the final assessments until Apple decides to test its foldable screens.
