In 2019, Microsoft was the third most important buyer of ads on portals owned by Facebook, and more specifically firm was interested in buying ads on Facebook and Instagram. Microsoft paid 116 million of dollars for buying the ads over that time. However, it turns out that Facebook this year may be deprived of this source of income from some companies.
Reports indicate that Microsoft has decided to opt out of Facebook advertising since May. This state of affairs is expected to last at least until August and from now on this decision has been issued globally on all markets. This decision was not triggered by the global post-pandemic crisis, and the main reason for the resignation was the place of advertising of specific companies. According to companies, ads have often appeared in unwanted places, and in their opinion, the message filter on Facebook and Instagram doesn't work properly, which is why messages on the portals often don't meet the requirements of the regulations. Aside from Microsoft, giants such as Starbucks, Ford and HP have decided to make similar moves.
