Qualcomm has been in the lead on the smartphone processor market for several years. Initially, however, phone manufacturers mainly used the company's flagship series of processors. Over time, the Qualcomm's portfolio has been expanded and the offer also includes processors dedicated to lower-priced devices. Many people could easily get confused when it comes to recognizing individual processors due to very similar names that always consisted of three-digit numbers. However, this problem will probably be solved soon.
As we can read on Twitter, Qualcomm plans to rename its flagship series of processors. This information was provided by one of the known leaksters - Ice Universe. The upcoming flagship processor from Qualcomm, so far portrayed in the media as the Snapdragon 898, is likely to get the name Snapdragon 8 gen1. After some time, we can also probably expect changes in the names of other processors of this company, which will certainly facilitate from the customer's perspective the recognition of individual units, their power and the production date of specific processors.
