Currently, smartphones usually use LPDDR5 RAM, but there is already a newer memory technology on the market called LPDDR5X DRAM. The companies developing this type of memory include Samsung, which has been officially working on this technology for a year. Now is the time to present a record-breaking DRAM memory.
The LPDDR5X DRAM variant presented by Samsung has a speed of 8.5 Gbps. It is currently the fastest DRAM memory available on the market, as previously the fastest memory was 7.5Gbps. Such speeds are not used in smartphones so far, and manufacturers are more willing to use them in computer markets and remote server support. Cooperation with Qualcomm was helpful in the development of a new memory variant for Samsung.
