For many companies on the mobile market, the first quarter of 2020 was one of the worst times in history. The widespread coronavirus pandemic has significantly reduced the demand for electronic devices, but Sony's problems on mobile market relates to more than just this year. And the first quarter of 2020 for Sony was simply a tragic summary of the company's recent activity on the mobile market.

During the first quarter of this year, Sony managed to sell 400 000 units of phones from Xperia series. This is the weakest result in the history of the brand's presence on the market. Compared to the first quarter of the previous year, this is a decrease of as much as 64%. It is worth noting that the sales of Sony Xperia received last notable increase in sales almost three years ago - in the second quarter of 2017. While in other markets Sony is doing really well, the mobile department is not achieving satisfactory financial results and it seems that it won't change in the nearest future.
