It is no secret that MWC 2019 will be dominated by presentations of 5G smartphones. The vast majority of companies will want to implement this solution for their phones later this year, although only a few countries are ready to run 5G in terms of network infrastructure. Although the majority of buyers of these devices will not be able to use the full capabilities of the phone immediately, their prices will be much higher than prices of devices that support the 4G type network. As proof, we can use the Chinese company OnePlus with their upcoming phone.
Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus, announced in an interview with USA Today that prototype of a 5G smartphone will appear on MWC. Interestingly, the device will initially be available only in two countries: in Great Britain and Finland. Over time, the phone will appear in a wider range of countries, but as Pete Lau announced, the company is not planning to introduce its first 5G device to the US market. He also added that the company will try to keep the price of this device under 1000$.
