Recommendations to YouTube users are based on advanced algorithms, but they are generally based on the material watched so far. Later, YouTube uses its proprietary algorithms to search for similar content that could be of interest to users. Such methods, however, somehow lock users into some kind of "filter bubbles". To avoid this, the company introduces a new function to its platform.

The announced function will be named "New for you". It will appear at the top of the application in the main menu. By using it, users will receive recommendations for videos, which in terms of interests do not necessarily correspond to the previously observed creators. However, this will be a response to the objection of users who claim that currently YouTube algorithms recommend recordings in a rather boring way according to users. The feature is now available to some users in the UK, US and France via an Android smartphone app.
