The option of unlocking the phone by voice appeared on the Android system a few years ago. Currently, fingerprint readers or the option of unlocking the device with our face have become much more popular methods of unlocking the phone, but the solution based on voice recognition still has many supporters. That's why customers may have been surprised when they noticed the lack of this feature in Pixel 3. It turns out that Google is planning a lot of changes in this feature, which after some time can even be removed from Android.

The latest version of the Google application still allows for adding our voice to the list of recognized voices, but the phone will no longer be able to be unlocked in the same way. Working of this function will be limited, and with using of our voice the phone will be able to open only certain applications. According to Google, company decided to do it because firm wants to guarantee improved security for users. This is quite understandable move from the American company, because definitely this way of unlocking the device is not as secure as using for example a fingerprint reader.
