A few months ago, and more specifically in July last year, Facebook introduced final version of the feature that allows you to watch videos together with your friends. Since then, website informs us that we are watching the recording at the same time as the people from the list of our friends, and also there appeared an option to invite other accounts to watch recordings together. Then Facebook tested this function in Messengeer, but recently the topic has subsided. It seems that changes in this direction will appear faster in Instagram than in Messenger.

Jane Manchun Wong has published photos on her Twitter account, which confirm that Instagram is currently testing the option of co-watching videos on this platform with our friends. As she announced, this function probably will work with video chats, and it will be available through Instagram Direct. New feature is supposed to function similarly to "Watch Party" from Facebook. This similarity should not surprise anyone, due to the close links between Instagram and Facebook, among others in the ownership aspect.
