Competition of smartphone manufacturers in the aspect of the lenses used in their flagship phones is in full swing. Quite recently, devices equipped with a 48mpx lens were considered as top, but the last several months have brought a breakthrough in the aspect of cameras in smartphones. Samsung was the first company to introduce 64mpx and 108mpx lenses into their smartphones, and this is not the end of ambitious plans of this mobile giant.

Yongin Park, head of Samsung's Sensor Business Team, has published on the Internet his article about the development of camera lenses. He indicates in it that the human eye sees the surrounding world at approximately 500mpx resolution, and Samsung will want to break this border. Park mentions the development of a 600mpx matrix that would allow for even more accurate analysis of photos. The development of such a lens is within the reach of Samsung's employees, but the most difficult task will be to reduce the camera to the size that is acceptable in smartphones, and for now we are not able to estimate when smartphones with 600mpx lenses will appear on the market.
