Russia has been invading Ukraine for over a month now. At that time, the letter Z became the symbol of the Russian army that entered the territory of Ukraine as this letter marks, among others, Russian tanks in order to distinguish them from Ukrainian equipment. In order to avoid links with the support of the Russian side in this conflict, companies that have so far used a single letter Z in their names or logos are increasingly willing to rebrand. A similar step applies to Samsung and the Galaxy Z Fold series of foldable smartphones.
On Samsung's websites, in some Baltic countries such as Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia, the letter Z, which is increasingly associated with the Russian army, has been removed from the names of the Galaxy Z Fold phones. The website address itself has not changed and the full name of the phone series is still there, while the graphics have already changed and only include the Galaxy Fold inscription promoting a series of foldable phones. Samsung, however, has not announced these changes so far and the modifications made have only been noted and listed by Internet users. Probably a similar step may be taken in the case of other markets, with particular emphasis on Ukraine.
