Currently, all Android phones receive chargers for the USB inputs. These are microUSB or USB-C inputs. The situation is different for an iPhone that uses the Lightning port. However, the European Union plans to introduce legislation to standardize the chargers used in smartphones.

It is already known that lawmakers from the European Parliament voted in favor of changes in this aspect. The announced changes would make life easier for citizens living in the European Union, but also according to the announced changes, they are also argued with ecological aspects. Manufacturers seem to be slowly moving towards more frequent use of the USB-C input, and setting one, default standard of input to support chargers would not force customers to regularly replace chargers, which generates unnecessary waste. The draft of the proposed changes is to be presented in September.
