The United States is gradually introducing sanctions against technology companies with any connection to China. This has already been demonstrated in the past by the example of Huawei, which was forced to remove Google services from its phones. This time the US government administration is working on introducing new sanctions that would apply to the distribution and production of processors.
The sanctions would stop the export of processors manufactured in 14nm technology or lower. The Department of Commerce has already sent an appropriate letter to some large companies that work with companies located in China or manufacture their units in China. This list includes Nvidia, AMD and Intel. These lists concern export restrictions to China. It is worth noting, however, that only companies that received such a letter must immediately comply with the new regulations announced in the letter. However, the restrictions may be tightened in the future. It is said that in the future, companies such as Dell, HP or Super Micro Computer may be completely banned from accessing the Chinese market. This could mean big problems for China, which does not have enough knowledge to mass-produce processors using the latest technological processes.
