First version of Cyanogen OS was released on 1 July 2009. It gained a large fan base around the world, the project evolved, also gained versions for new phones.
Despite this Cyanogen Inc. dismissed recently a large number of employees, also president of this firm decided to leave his office. 2 days ago on the official blog of Cyanogen was published an information that Cyanogen Inc. abandons the official work on Cyanogen OS on 31 December 2016. Source code will be available for every person who wants to make his own Cyanogen Mod. The company will focus on creating add-ons for Android, which won't make an standalone system.
