Twitter is constantly struggling with the problem of passing on incorrect information. Algorithms on the website cause that often just liking a tweet with dubious content greatly increases its reach. Recently, however, the company's policy has changed and Twitter is trying to highlight tweets that may mislead users in a special way. Moreover, the platform will want to limit the reach of such messages.
As is well known, tweets with misleading content are now marked with a special communicate. However, if users did not notice it and unknowingly liked such a tweet, Twitter will now display an additional notification. A message displayed to users will inform that a liked tweet or a tweet which users want to retweet may contain false information. As Twitter itself mentions, reach of specific tweets that can be misleading resulted in a 29% reduction in retransmission of false information just after implementation of special communicates months ago, hence the company decided to go a step further.
