It's not a secret that due to the coronavirus pandemic sales of electronics have declined worldwide. As a result, manufacturers had to reduce the number of devices produced, which translated into lower revenues for individual companies. Interestingly, there were also cases where the abandonment of the production of a specific number of phones generated additional costs for producers. This is the case with Apple, which is required to pay a fine of 950 million of dollars to Samsung.
Samsung has signed an agreement with Apple to supply OLED screens, which are then used in iPhones. Few people knew, however, that Samsung secured a clause in the contract under which Apple undertakes to order a certain number of displays in a specific period. The crisis caused by the pandemic translated into lower production, which ultimately resulted in Apple not ordering enough displays from Samsung, hence the American entrepreneur now has to pay a fine of 950 million of dollars.
