After the May software update, owners of Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 phones began to report massive overheating problems on their smartphones. The problem resulted in high temperatures of the components, which translated into a rapid decrease in battery charge. It happened that the phone was able to lose 20% of its battery capacity when it was idle next to the user. However, Google very quickly noticed the problem and went to solve it.

The problem is solved by the latest software update that has been officially released by Google. The update is installed on the smartphone automatically, without the need for user intervention. According to Google, the problem was the way the Google search app worked in the background.
