Apple's publishing plans for the release of new iPhones this year have been changed. This is obviously due to the problems caused by the coronavirus pandemic, hence Apple was unable to prepare a standard conference in September and it has been postponed. Probably Apple will present the new phones from the 12 series in two batches, initially presenting the standard iPhone 12 model, while the most powerful models, i.e. iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, will be presented later.
Most iPhone 12 reports indicated that Apple was likely to use "standard" screens with a refresh rate of 60Hz on these phones. This state of affairs was to be forced by time pressure. It turns out, however, that new Apple phones can receive screens with a refresh rate of 120Hz. This is confirmed in the fifth beta of iOS 14, where we can find the option to set a screen refresh rate limit. The appearance of such an option proves that Apple is certainly working on this type of screen, but at the moment there is no guarantee that the 120Hz refresh rate will appear in the screens of the iPhones 12.
