Android users have been able to use the picture-in-picture feature of the official YouTube app for several years. In the application dedicated to iOS, however, such a function was not available in the stable version of the application for most users. Last year, information appeared that the picture-in-picture mode was added for YouTube Premium subscribers in the United States, thanks to which they could use it on their iPhones and iPads. YouTube, however, has finally decided to expand the range of countries which will support the new feature.

From now on, Premium users will have access to picture-in-picture functionality for all recordings available on the YouTube platform. The only necessary detail will be to enable the appropriate option in Settings. YouTube will also provide picture-in-picture access to some users without a Premium subscription. This applies to US customers. However, it is worth mentioning that as part of the free version of this function, it will only be possible to play non-musical recordings in the background.
