In January 2022, Microsoft announced that it had acquired Activision Blizzard. Since then, however, many international entities have raised concerns, mainly regarding concerns about breaches of antitrust policies. With the latest decision of the European Union, however, one of the entities decided to withdraw its reservations and allowed the transaction to be completed.

The European Commission has agreed to the purchase of Activision by Microsoft, but on the condition that its commitments regarding the provision of games in the cloud are met. Microsoft must provide a 10-year license to host Activision games in the cloud. The approval of the European Union was one of the major obstacles blocking the completion of the transaction, but some entities still have reservations about the transaction, which includes, among others, the Competition and Markets unit from Great Britain. However, we are getting closer to the buyout of Activision for a substantial amount of 68.7 billion of dollars.
