All producers on the mobile market want to make full use of available screen space and create frameless displays. There is then a serious problem in the design of the phone regarding the use of the front camera on the phone. Smartphone manufacturers have already tested many solutions, including the characteristic notch at the top of the screen and the pop-up front camera. Xiaomi came up with a new idea that has already been officially patented. We are talking about placing lenses in the upper corners of the screen.
This idea was created for phones from the low or medium price range, mainly due to the high cost of production of the retractable front camera. Thanks to this solution, specially designed places in the corners of the screen would allow to place even two lenses in the front camera set, and at the same time it would be possible to use almost the entire area of the display. Theoretically, this solution looks very interesting and could be a breakthrough on the mobile market, but as you know in the most of cases patents are completely abandoned by manufacturers and we have to wait to find out if Xiaomi have some serious plans for future connected with its new idea.
