Phones produced by Xiaomi from Redmi series are on the market for several years and find many buyers. These are very solid devices that can be purchased for a small amount of money. Xiaomi is aware that Redmi brand has become popular all over the world, not only in China. That's why general manager of the company, Lei Jun, announced that Redmi will become a separate brand just like Pocophone or Black Shark which is dedicated to gamers.
Xiaomi even designed a special brand logo that you can see above. Separating the Redmi brand will make it possible to differentiate flagships from medium-priced phones, which is certainly a good move because of wide portfolio of the Chinese company. The first phones from the Redmi series that will appear on the market after the changes will probably be Redmi 7 and Redmi Note 7, which premiere is going to take place during upcoming days.
