At the moment, the iPhone 13 allows the use of virtual eSIM cards, while the phones also have a nanoSIM card slot. Apple is scheduled to deliver the iPhone 15 Pro to the market in 2023, which is to be deprived of entry for the nanoSIM card. Then it will only be possible to use electronic eSIM cards on such a phone. It is worth adding, however, that Apple is aware of the diversification of markets around the world. In some countries, eSIM technology is currently very underdeveloped and in these markets another version of the iPhone 15 Pro would appear, which will be equipped with an input for a physical nanoSIM card.
