Two companies have been at the forefront of the smartphone market for a long time. It's pretty obvious that we are talking about Samsung and Apple. The most serious rivals for these two companies are Chinese manufacturers Huawei and Xiaomi. Huawei has been on the podium for a long time when it comes to the number of sold units of phones, but its conflict with the United States government has significantly affected this manufacturer's market activity. This was occasion for Xiaomi, which surprisingly was ranked third among smartphone manufacturers in terms of the number of shipped smartphones in February 2020.
What is worth noting, both Xiaomi and Huawei recorded declines in terms of the number of devices sold compared to February last year. Clearly, the main factor that caused this state of affairs is the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus epidemic. Xiaomi managed to deliver 6 million smartphones to stores during February, and Huawei in the same time sent 5.5 million of phones. This is Xiaomi's first such result in the company's history when it comes to comparing achievements with other companies.
