Some time ago, we reported on an experiment performed by Xiaomi. At that time, the Chinese company used express fast charging, which allowed the specially prepared unit Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro to be charged by wire in 8 minutes to full battery capacity, and the same result was achieved wirelessly in 15 minutes. The tested model received a 4000mAh battery, but customers immediately indicated that there is a great concern about the battery life with such charging. However, Xiaomi claims that 800 charging cycles with the technology presented will reduce the battery capacity by only 20%. For this reason, Xiaomi is slowly getting ready to start mass production of phones and chargers that will allow the charging process to be carried out with a power of 200W in commercial use.
The latest reports indicate that Xiaomi is thinking about starting mass production of such equipment in June 2022. If it turns out to be true, the Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra could probably count on receiving this technology. Developing a technology with such power for commercial use would be a record on the mobile market and it would certainly be a strong bargaining chip for the Chinese manufacturer comparing to the competition.
