At the moment, Xiaomi company bases the production of its phones in two regions: China and India. The situation related to the availability of components and the general state of the COVID-19 pandemic caused that more and more manufacturers decide to build new factories in countries other than China. Xiaomi decides to take a similar step.

Xiaomi plans to create a smartphone factory in Vietnam. Such an investment is expected to cost around 80 million of dollars. The factory will occupy nearly 200 000 square meters, and the Hong Kong-based DBG Technology company will be responsible for the realization of the investment. The construction of a new factory is going to allow Xiaomi to easier delivery of smartphones to other Asian countries, with particular emphasis on the markets in Malaysia and Thailand. In addition to the production of smartphones, the new factory is planned to be responsible for the production of data transmission equipment and circuit boards.
