Disney+ service officially debuted on the market 16 months ago. It happened exactly on 12th of November 2019. From the very beginning, the website was planned to challenge the biggest video streaming giants, led by Netflix. The service is constantly evolving, which is also confirmed by statistics. After 16 months from the launch, Disney+ can boast of breaking the barrier of 100 million users subscribing to this service.
This information was confirmed by Bob Chapek, who is the company's CEO. This statistic was made public at Disney's traditional annual shareholders' meeting. Comparing Disney+'s performance to the competition, the numbers look really impressive, as Disney quickly managed to get into a fight with competing companies. Netflix boasts 200 million active subscribers. HBO Max, on the other hand, boasted with 37.7 million of subscribers in January.
