A very interesting novelty in both phones is the unusual mechanism that allows you to unlock the phone with a face, which completely replaced the unlock option using a fingerprint reader. This is a technically very advanced feature, especially when we compare Pixel 4 with other phones on the market. Pixel 4 creates a map of the human face and based on the built map, the phone unlocks, which is a much safer solution than standard face unlocking. Unfortunately, it turns out that the creators of the phone did not take care of one important detail. To unlock Pixel 4, owner of the phone doesn't need to have opened eyes.
This is an important and dangerous detail because, for example, during our sleep someone can unlock our phone only by pointing it to our face. Google has reported that it is aware of this problem and recommends to keep your phone in a safe place all the time. The manufacturer also confirmed that it is working on a solution to this problem, but no specific date has been published when we can expect an update to fix face unlocking.
