After releasing MIUI's update to 8.2 version Xiaomi is currently working on completely new version of this system. We already know that MIUI 9 will be released for phones such as Mi6, Mi5c and Redmi Note 4 and what’s more, one of Xiaomi’s workers accidentally sent a message to the journalists in which he mentions topic of new features in new version of the system.
Xiaomi plans to include two big features to the firmware: split-screen option and picture-in-picture option. It looks like company strongly cares about opinion of its users, because in the recent poll Xiaomi's users made it clear that they would be happy to see the split screen option in the new MIUI - 80% of those who took part in the poll supported this option. MIUI in 9.0 version probably will be released in second part of 2017.
