Qualcomm officially announced Snapdragon X50 - a breakthrough modem, which will operate on the 5G network. The maximum transfer rate is up to 5 Gb/s. In case of losing communication with 5G, the modem will automatically switch on 4G LTE option. Snapdragon X50 is the first officially unveiled modem using 5G technology.
According to the company’s website, at the end of 2017 production of the modem is going to begin, and in 2018 we can expect the first devices equipped with it.
