YouTube Vanced app is one of the unofficial alternatives to the official YouTube app on the market. It worked on Android phones, but it was not available for download through the official Google Play Store and to use it, you had to download the apk file from the project's website. The application gave access to popular functions, such as background music playback or picture-in-picture mode, completely for free. Google, however, tried to cancel this project, especially since the introduction of YouTube Premium subscription, as most of the functions officially made available to users for a fee could be obtained for free using the Vanced application. Officially, however, the end of the Vanced project is coming, which was confirmed by the authors themselves.
The Vanced project is officially canceled, and the reasons for such a decision should be found in the legal aspects. Links to apk files are going to disappear from YouTube Vanced soon. The authors assure, however, that the previously downloaded files will work on Android phones and it will still be possible to use the previously installed YouTube Vanced. However, due to the stoppage of the development of the application, the operation of Vanced is limited in time, until major changes in the operation of YouTube in the mobile version will take place, which will certainly take place in the coming years.
