Last year was very difficult for the Chinese company ZTE. The year 2018 was the worst in the company's history in financial terms, as the company recorded a loss of 1.04 billion dollars. This amount of money is mainly caused due to the penalty imposed by the United States government in the amount of 1 billion of dollars. The conflict itself arose because of the illegal sale of equipment to North Korea and Iran by ZTE. In addition, the United States government imposed many sanctions on ZTE that prevented the company from operating normally in that country. Decisions of the USA were also copied by countries such as Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
Despite all the obstacles, ZTE managed to achieve a profit of about 41 million of dollars in the fourth quarter of 2018 alone. Heads of the Chinese company are quite optimistic about financial situation of company in 2019. They are sure that development of the 5G network and cybersecurity improvements will help firm to receive profit at the end of year. If predictions will be confirmed, ZTE will be able to make a profit of 179 million of dollars after whole year.
