Samsung began testing a new feature called Maintenance Mode in July. At that time, phones from the Galaxy S21 series were included in the tests among users from South Korea, and then the function went also to users from China. It has been checked and after confirming its operation, Samsung decided to release new functions globally for customers from other countries.

Maintenance Mode consists in blocking access to data on the phone for the duration of the repair of the smartphone. It will be possible to turn it on in Settings, and more precisely, the appropriate field will be placed in the Battery and device care tab. After entering the password set in the phone, all data on the phone will be secured, starting from photos, ending with passwords and saved payment cards. The function can be turned off after the repair of the phone is completed in a simple way, because then you will only need to enter the password to restore access to all data on the smartphone. Samsung will gradually expand the number of models that will receive the new feature.
