Month by month, eSIM technology is gaining more and more recognition among smartphone manufacturers and the users themselves. From the point of view of companies creating phones, the lack of the need to use physical SIM cards in phones allows to use a little more space in the phone to improve the specifications of the device. From the customers' point of view, using eSIM is a convenient solution, as it allows for a smooth change of devices used and the possibility of using the same telephone number in different devices. With the launch of Android 13, using this technology may become even more comfortable.
With the release of version 13, Android is expected to support a feature called Multiple Enabled Profiles. As the name suggests, using this function allows you to handle the signal from two operators on one eSIM card. In practice, this translates into a convenient option to switch between different networks. Currently, in eSIM technology it is possible to use many profiles, but only one of them can be active at a time. At the moment, it is said that this option will make its debut with Android 13, but it will probably be used in other systems such as iOS or Windows over time.
