From the very beginning, when Fortnite hit Android and iOS, some problems arose between the developers of the game, i.e. Epic Games and between Google and Apple. The owners of Epic Games didn't like the model of sharing profits from micropayments in the game, which is imposed on the developers of applications made available through Google Play and the App Store. In line with the rules, both Google and Apple earn 30 percent of the revenue from each microtransaction in the game. Epic Games decided to make a bold decision and made it possible for users to make payments, bypassing the owners of the platform.
The "Epic direct payment" option has appeared directly in the Fortnite game. It allows you to make payments directly, including using your credit card. Such payment is cheaper than the standard option, and all of course thanks to the omission of the commission charged by Google and Apple. Apple reacted quickly to changes in the game code. The game has already been removed from the App Store. This is not Epic Games' first attempt to bypass the Play Store and the App Store. When Fortnite entered the mobile market, Epic offered users to download the game directly from the manufacturer's website, but over time, the game hit the most popular app stores.
