The European Union, by introducing new regulations, in a certain way forced Apple to make changes to its equipment. We already know that all electronic devices that will appear on the market in the coming years will have to receive a USB-C charging input, and that's not all. Due to changes in European Union law, Apple will probably allow application producers to use third-party stores with the entry of iOS 17.
Until now, downloading applications for iPhones was only possible through the AppStore. This is a big difference compared to Android, where the system allows you to install external applications in the form of .apk files. With the entry into force of the Digital Markets Act, from 2024, phone manufacturers will have to provide users with alternative sources of obtaining applications outside of the main store, which in the case of Apple is the AppStore. With the entry of iOS 17 in 2023, Apple wants to adapt to the regulations coming into force. However, we do not yet know exactly what the possibility of downloading applications from a source other than the AppStore will look like, and how Apple will take care of users' security and privacy when downloading applications from external sources.
