There has been a long-standing dispute between Apple and Ericsson. Ultimately, however, both companies reached an agreement in 2015, which ensured cooperation for the next 7 years. However, the problem returned a few months ago when the contract was coming to an end. Ericsson even decided to sue Apple in 2021. The companies could not reach an agreement, but it was finally confirmed that a new license agreement between Ericsson and Apple was signed.
The agreement, as in the case of cooperation from previous years, includes a license to use patents in the field of cellular technology in mobile networks, including patents related to 5G communications. The agreement reached also ends the court cases that started in recent years and concerned the cooperation between Ericsson and Apple.
