Google Maps is an application that ousted many different navigations popular years ago on the market. The application is very easy to use and at the same time it's updated by people sitting behind the wheel of cars at a given moment, which means that the information in the database in many cases is updated minute by minute. This service was launched exactly 15 years ago and for this reason Google, as part of celebrating the 15th birthday of Google Maps, decided to release a major Maps update.
Google has decided to make big changes in the aspect of application design. The icons (both those used after opening the application and the main Google Maps logo) have been changed, and producer added some new functions that can be operated on one of the five cards on which all the possibilities offered by the application have been placed. Five tabs containing all the functions of the application are: Explorer (allows you to find information about places around the world), Commute (used to find routes depending on the chosen means of transport), Saved (you can find your favorite places there), Contribute (used to adding information to the Google Maps database, rate restaurants etc.) and Updates (showing events in your vicinity). In the nearest future we will receive further updates, in which the application is expected to predict number of carriages and temperature in public transport and facilitate our path on foot using augmented reality.
