Information about Google Pixel 4 is gradually released to the market directly by the phone manufacturer. Recent renders have indicated that the newest phone of producer from California will finally allow users to unlock their phone using their faces. This information has been confirmed by Google today, and we have also learned that Pixel 4 will support motion gestures.

The key solution introduced to the new Pixel will be Soli, a project being developed by Google for 5 years. It is a sensor that allows you to read movements made over the display of phone and this radar will be responsible for operating the phone with the help of gestures. This feature will unfortunately not be available in all countries around the world, as confirmed by the manufacturer itself. Soli will also play an important role in unlocking the device with using the face. This option will work in similar way to FaceID feature implemented by Apple, as it will be supposed to create a 3D face map, and then verify that the phone should be unlocked or not. According to Google, creating virtual 3D map is currently the safest option available on the market to use feature of face unlocking. We do not know how introducing Face Unlock will affect the possible addition of a fingerprint reader to Pixel 4, but it is possible that Google will completely give up this option.
