New phones from the Pixel series by Google hit the market in October. Since then, both Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro support unlocking the device with the fingerprint reader built in under the screen, but smartphones do not support the face unlock option. This feature is not available on phones from the day of launch, but it is possible that in the future it will come to smartphones with upcoming system updates.

In the source code of Android 12, there are references to support for the Face Unlock feature by phones with the Tensor processor, which appeared in the new Pixels. However, it is worth mentioning that the code only mentions the possible addition of this function to the Pixel 6 Pro model. There are no details in the source code indicating the possible support of Face Unlock by the standard Pixel 6 model. At the moment, however, Google has not officially commented on the possible addition of Face Unlock to its new phones.
