Each phone with Android system after the first turn on received default browser and search engine. These were Google's apps named Google Search and Google Chrome. The European Union has recognized this as a practice that is against law in the EU, violating the free market rules, and then European Commission imposed a fine of 4.3 billion of euro on company from the United States. Google reluctantly but will have to change the initial configuration of Android among users from the European Union.

The changes announced by Google will be implemented in the coming weeks. After entering them, Android will ask the user just after the first turn on the device, which browser and search engine should be set as default. One of the options will be Google's applications already installed in the phone, but  system will also recommend users to download applications from other producers. It is possible that this is not the end of changes in the Android system forced by the European Union.
