For some time now, Huawei has had problems with its operations in the US market, due to sanctions imposed on the company by the US government. Huawei received a temporary license to operate in the US which allowed, among other things, to conclude specific contracts with US companies, but the temporary license has expired and it hasn't been renewed yet. We don't know how this will affect the company's operations and whether the license will eventually be renewed. However, Huawei responded to a question from its client on Twitter, which indicates that owners of current phones don't have to worry about future updates of their equipment.

One user asked the official Huawei's profile on Twitter about upcoming Android and Google Services updates. The company, using its official profile, replied that phones that have already appeared on the market will not suffer due to the expiry of the license and system updates as well as updates of Google Services will still appear on previously released phones.
