Chinese phone maker decided to fight with one of the most irritating problems of mobile industry: battery capacity and its charge time.

Japan hosted a 56th Battery Symposium (as silly as it sound, it really shows some incredible ideas). Durning that event, Huawei presented a new battery with its charge time 10 times faster than the current ones.

A 3000mAh battery was shown having charged 48% in 5 minutes.

Battery works like this:

"[the battery is being charged by]...using heteroatoms and bonding them to the molecule of graphite in the anode - which then acts as a catalyst for the transmission of lithium through carbon bonds.

The upshot is that it means energy can be transferred faster without losing either energy density (and thus capacity of the battery) or hurting battery life."
