In the media, Google publicly encouraged Apple to introduce the RCS messaging standard, which would allow improved text communication between phones with different operating systems. Then, people using iOS and Android could even receive confirmation of reading messages or they could send reactions to messages. Apple, however, has no plans to make changes to the iMessage service, despite the fact that Mark Zuckerberg criticized user privacy in iMessage a few hours ago.
Mark Zuckerberg posted a photo criticizing iMessage on his private Instagram account. According to Zuckerberg, messages sent via WhatsApp are better encrypted and offer more privacy to users than with iMessage. WhatsApp on both iOS and Android uses end-to-end encryption, which is missing in the Apple's platform. Zuckerberg even decided to buy a banner space near Pennsylvania Station, where he praises the security on the WhatsApp platform, clearly indicating that the Meta messenger is safer than iMessage, which is depicted on the banner with a characteristic blue message bubble.
