Samsung has been cooperating with Nokia for several years. It is worth emphasizing that it is an agreement with Nokia and not with HMD Global, which creates Nokia smartphones. The Finnish company Nokia itself is still present on the market, but focuses on other aspects of the market. Many Nokia solutions are highly appreciated by other manufacturers, hence Samsung entered into a 5-year agreement in 2013 allowing the use of some Nokia's patents. This contract was extended in 2016 and 2018 and it turns out that this is not the end of the cooperation between both companies.
Information has appeared on the Internet confirming that Nokia has reached an agreement with Samsung. As part of the announced cooperation, Samsung will be able to use Nokia's patents regarding the video section. Nokia will receive an appropriate fee under the contract.
