OnePlus from the very beginning of the company's presence on the market provided customers with phones that were considered as "flagship killers". This was due to the fact that the Chinese company was creating phones with excellent specifications that were available for purchase at attractive prices. Over time, however, the prices of OnePlus phones began to match the prices of top manufacturers on the market, and in addition, the production of OnePlus series phones created with the mid-price shelf in mind. No wonder that two brands will be officially merged soon, and it will be merge of OnePlus and Oppo.

From the very beginning of OnePlus's presence on the market, the company's dependence on Oppo was emphasized. You could also see a lot of similarities in terms of specifications or phone designs, but it is quite natural, because the owner of both brands is the same company - BBK Electronics. Due to the fact that OnePlus began to resemble Oppo with its profile more and more, both companies will join forces. So far, we do not know how exactly the merger of the two companies will translate into the activities of both brands on the market, but we should not expect radical changes for now. The OnePlus brand should be available on the market all the time and will probably continue to use OxygenOS.
